FACETING
Description: This is an introductory class on cutting faceted gemstones (transparent stones similar in appearance to diamonds). This class will consist of cutting a standard round brilliant stone. The following general topics will be covered in the class: choosing rough material, stone doping, meet point faceting system, facet cutting, transferring stones, and facet polishing. Students will also be taught the proper operation and care of a faceting machine. Each student will complete a minimum of 1 stone.
Materials: Facet rough is supplied by the club. Special material must be supplied by the student.

Duration: The beginners class is 4 - five hour sessions over 2 weeks from 12 pm to 5 pm weekdays only.
