CASTING

Description: This is an introductory class on the process of lost wax casting. The class will cover the use of wax models, proper investing for wax model burnout, safety for melting metals, proper break-out-of-the-cast model, and model finishing. Students will learn the proper safety and operation of a burn out oven, torch, and vacuum caster.  Each student will complete a minimum of 2 pieces.

Materials: Students must provide or purchase silver. All other materials are supplied by the club.
Prerequisite: Beginning Silversmithing Class
Fee: $40 ($30 instruction & $10 for materials)
Duration: 3 Sessions. Each student will complete a minimum of 2 pieces.
